When I was born, I had a severe reaction to immunizations. 

"Her eyes are rolling back in her head.... I'm sorry but she's not going to make it"

were the words uttered to my 19-year-old mother who had just given birth to me while my father was under the ocean in a submarine for the Navy. Somehow, after several nights of hospitalization, I proved them wrong. I survived. 

 

Fast forward to my high school years, when I became passionate about learning about these immunizations and helping families dealing with a family member(s) with special needs, especially Autism. I completed my high school senior thesis on Autism & had a desire to be a naturopathic physician.

Through high school, college, and even naturopathic medical school, I continued working as a special needs care provider, often as a live-in care provider. I saw first-hand what these families struggles were and how they had to operate day-to-day.

After college, I attended Naturopathic Medical school in Arizona. At the time, I knew someone who had a son that was experiencing crazy symptoms such as full-body convulsions and regression of behavior. He went from behavior of a 7-year-old to behaving much like a 3 or 4 year old. It was heart-breaking to see a perfectly healthy child all of a sudden become so ill that his body was out of control and his behavior not even seem like the same child! Thankfully, I had just learned in school of a new diagnosis known as PANDAS/PANS, which is an auto-immune disorder that attacks a part of the brain that is responsible for motor coordination and behavior known as the basal ganglia. I just knew that was exactly what he was suffering from, so I attended a special needs workshop with a panel of doctors and researchers and learned about a unique dietary supplement that was helping this diagnosis!

This sick little boy saw several doctors saying they weren't familiar or did not believe that diagnosis existed (it was brand new at the time). A few other doctors told us that his symptoms were not severe enough - as if loss of motor coordination and behavior regression wasn't enough! Finally, one doctor agreed to test him. Sure enough, the test was positive and he was diagnosed with P.A.N.D.A.S. The doctors gave him almost every single treatment they could find, including a surgery.... nothing helped.

FINALLY they agreed to try the dietary supplement I had learned about & within 2 hours, his body calmed down, he gained control over his body & slowly but surely, the child that we once knew came back into being himself again!!!
